Fall Leaves

I apologize for the lack of posts. With the fall weather, there's not much to post about. There are a few things still growing in the garden, but nothing new has gone in. I think we're going to wait until next year as we begin to plan what we'll be growing.

Today I wanted to show you some photos of beautiful leaves that grace my yard. It's my next-door-neighbor's tree, but when it's sunny outside, the orange color fills the windows in the front door and in the kitchen, it's magnificent.

This photo was taken a few days ago, but isn't the tree so pretty? The orange color still remains on the tree, but its leaves have started to fall. It's not too cold in Nashville yet, but we've had a few cool/frosts I believe. All of our indoor plants are now safely in the house. In the upcoming weeks, I'll be posting photos of the last days of the outside garden as well as some of our indoor plants.

Enjoy the fall!

Hi DP, what a fantastic tree in your neighbor's yard, and you don't even have to rake the leaves! Now is a good time to plan for next year too. It is fun to dream about the garden, especially during the colder months.

Hi Frances- I agree. Dreaming is all we have now that it's getting colder and our plants might soon die from the frost! I really want to expand my garden for next year, so I have many ideas in my mind.

That tree is a beauty! I noticed one just like it today while in town although not as pretty in the fog we are having today. Cold front mixing with the warm temps and then look out, Mr Frost is expected to arrive this weekend...

That tree is so pretty with the sun lighting up the leaves. What a great view you have.

It IS a gorgeous tree, DP. We have some nice fall trees to look at through our windows, too, but yours is truly magnificent!

Maples right? They don't do so well here, and they don't get cold enough to get those neon colors here, so I'll just drool over your neighbors!!!! My neighbor had a marvelous red oak that out did itself this year, but I looked Tuesday and ALL the leaves are gone (overnight), just the sad beauty of bare branches. If the wind keeps blowing like it is today, most of our trees will be bare. Autumn is fleeting:)

Hi Naturegirl, It is so beautiful. I agree!! Black cats are the greatest!

Hi Susie, I hate the chilly weather in fall, but I do love all the beautiful colors of orange and red and yellow.

Hi Raquel, I had no idea it was a maple. Don't maple trees grow really tall? But it is gorgeous.

Hi Tina- I love orange and red in the fall the most. It's a very pretty tree-I agree!

Hi Skeeter- Yikes about the frost. The tree is now losing a lot of its leaves. I hate when leaves become that brown color. Not as pretty!

Hi Cindy- It is a wonderful view, especially when it's sunny.

Hi Jan- Thank you. I love it the tree. I'm sure the trees in your neck of the woods are gorgeous by now.

Hi Carla- Autumn is definitely fleeting. Soon winter will be here. Too bad it hardly ever snows in Nashville.

Gorgeous tree. I wish I had one so pretty, but all I have are two awful Norway maples in my front yard. I want a sugar maple.
