This Week's Harvest

I'm participating in the Nashville 48-Hour Film Project this weekend, so I don't have much time to post or comment on friendly blogs. Anyway, I wanted to show you my vegetable harvest for this week! It's been very fruitful week! The harvest is plentiful and everything is delicious!

Apples, green beans, cucumbers and eggplant!

Hi DP, sounds like fun. Your eggplant is so elegant. The apples are pretty too. You should be very proud of your harvest.

Apples...how did I miss that you were growing apples! Nice!

I was wrong about our egg plant! I noticed mine was growing into a round shape, Saint picked up the tag and we did not get the ichabod but a round variety instead! Duh, I had a lapse in the memory department because I knew we had the ichabod... Reckon we will be having Egg Plant Parmesan after all!

Everthing looks healthy and so edible. I am so jealous of the green apples. I don't have apples. Is that the new slim jim eggpplant? I would like to try that.

Hi Jan- Thank you! It was delicious.

Hi Tina-Also thank you! I'm very proud and surprised that I'm doing so well at gardening!

Hi Skeeter- Thank you for your comment. It was so delicious and definitely yummy. And congrats on finding that you have the round variety. It's still pretty cool. Let me know how the eggplant dish turns out. Yum!

Hi Cindy- Thank you! It was fun to harvest it from the garden.

Hi Dave- They are "golden delicious"-- that's what they were labeled when we bought the tree from the store 10 years ago, but they taste more like green baking apples. Tart and delicious in pie!

Hi Frances- Thanks! I am so excited about my harvest, and all of its gone by now. Eaten and enjoyed by everyone in the family!

Hi Gail-The apples in our yard were plentiful. We have two trees, so lots of apples. I'm going to bake tons of apple pies and learn how to make apple sauce!

Hi Plantgirl- Thanks! The eggplant was elegant and pretty!

Hi Eve- No, it's an ichabod eggplant. I've actually really enjoyed growing the eggplant. It's a great experience!

Hi Lola-- Many thanks! I'm hoping that next year will be better than this, and the harvest will be even better. I'm so excited!
